At the end of 2022, we had the opportunity to promote BAG while sharing the booth with our amazing funder Electronic Arts (EA) Motive Studio, at MEGAMIGS Festival - one of the largest gaming conferences in North America.
But what is BAG? Bag is the acronym for Build-A-Game project. It is a set of coding workshops dedicated to the creation of various games in Scratch. The idea is to enable youth to understand the principles of coding and game design through a series of fun, interactive workshops led by STEM experts.
Last summer, more than a dozen youth joined us on a virtual experience series to create video games (concept, theme, engine, character design & code) using Scratch. This event was led by KCJ instructors and by volunteers from EA Motive in collaboration with the Bibliothèques de Montréal and Loisirs St-Michel in Montreal, QC.
